New installations
The aims of the training are to enable the apprentice to- plan, perform, document and evaluate landscape gardening work
- perform ground work and construction work on fixed and loose covering constructions
- describe, evaluate and perform work with plant materials and growth mediums, with point of departure in natural growing conditions of various genuses, plant varieties and sorts, and their own particular qualities
- select, work with and use natural stones, concrete and other materials in designing sites
- use technical equipment, and carry out manual and machine work according to current rules and legislation, standards and plans
- perform work on new installations and evaluate economy, resource use and environmental considerations
- use professional terminology, cooperate and communicate with other professional groups, users and clients
- evaluate accessibility for different user groups when designing new installations
Operation and maintenance
The aims of the training are to enable the apprentice to- plan, document and evaluate operational and maintenance work in accordance with prepared quality plans, current rules, legislation and standards for the landscape gardening trade
- operate and maintain various types of green and grey landscapes according to current rules, legislation and standards based on considerations to economy, aesthetics, resource use and the environment
- maintain vegetation based on the vegetation's characteristics and environmental demands
- select and use machines, tools, devices and equipment, and carry out daily maintenance chores
- perform work according to rules and agreements that regulate employment in the landscape gardening trade, and give an account of the employer's and employee's obligations and rights
- describe organisation and requirements for workers in a company, and for the landscape gardening trade as a whole
- perform work tasks in an ergonomically correct manner
